My boys are growing up way too fast. You try to slow the days down or tell your brain never to forget this memory, but slowly you forget and time has gone by 5 years. My oldest is now 13! Wow! And my little baby is turning 7 this month.

I love watching them grow, but I want them to stop....lol.

Jackie, my sister in law, and I headed out into the nice warm January day for some photos. It was nice out for a January, but very icy so we had to be careful where we went. We found the perfect spot and got down to work :)

I had the pleasure being the photographer for my cousin's wedding last month. I am so happy they asked me! I was able to see the entire day unfold, and it was so wonderful to see. Usually I am surrounded by starngers when I photograph a wedding, but this time I was around my entire family so it was even more amazing to photograph.

Amanda was a stunning bride and Jean Paul was as handsome as ever. Their bridal party was just as handsome and stunning................and a little crazy ;) Especially the groomsmen....hahaha!

It was a beautiful sunny day for Jamie and Trevor's wedding day. Jamie was a stunning bride with an equaly handsome groom, both wonderful people.

The day went off without a hitch. At the reception I laughed along with the guests as the speeches went on and stories about the bride and groom came. It's always nice to see the entire day unfold.

Melissa decided to head to the tracks on her last day here to get some shots of her mom, sister and daughters. I came along to second shoot, and Ethan came too............he was a great dancer! He would stand beside me and dance so the girls would smile :)

Woke up at 6am for this shoot! The sun was so gorgeous as it came up for me and my good friend Melissa. If you follow my blog you already know that Melissa and I are both founders of The Tiny Light Foundation, as well as photographer friends :)

Well we saw the chance to get some amazing photos and we took it.

It was so much fun, I always have fun with her. We talk to eachother about 5 times a day, because she lives in BC we don't see eachother that often. But I feel like she is right next door because we talk so much :)

Do we get on eachother nerves? Sometimes. Do we love eachother flaws and all? Always.

Jessica emailed me looking for some family pictures. She was contacting me on behalf of Janet, her boyfriend's mother. They wanted a location that screamed city, so I asked my loyal Facebook friends, I am not a city girl so I wanted someone from the city who would know better than me. We headed out to McNally High School, it had the perfect background of the city skyline! And some other great spots too.

I had an absolute blast with this family, at one point I actually couldn't take one of the shots because I was laughing so hard. And I couldn't be happier with how the pictures turned out! Hope you love them as much as I do :)

Tiny Light Brinley | Sturgeon County Family Photographer

This is my session with Brinley and her family. Brinley is a tiny light, you can read more about The Tiny Light Foundation her www.thetinylight.com. A foundation that I am very proud to be a part of :)
Brinely is fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and just this April she lost all of her hair. She did shed a few tears about being bald, but is now embrassing it. Her hair has now started growing back and now she wants to show the world her beautiful growing hair :)

I met this family at Prairie Gardens Greenhouse, what a beautiful location for a photo session! The kids just loved everything there. And it was so pretty there I could just about take any photo anywhere at the greenhouse. Brinley is such a little cutie, as is her big brother Carter. They were a lot of fun to photograph and I wish Brinley nothing but the very best!

Madison is a brave and strong little girl. She was born with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia. CAH is a condition in which the affected person's adrenal glands cannot produce cortisol or aldosterone, both very important hormones for survival (kind of like diabetes of the adrenal glands). Madison is quite the little girl, she is such a little cutie pie. She loves playing at the park, dancing and reading books with Mommy and Daddy.

She is a mover that is for sure. I think she maybe sat down for about a minute, until she got up and bolted for anywhere but my camera direction........lol. I am pretty sly though and got some great shots of her being herself. I loved capturing your very special tiny light :)

This pretty lady is Brittany, and she is having baby number 2 soon. I had the pleasure of photographing big sister Cheyanne as a tiny light, she was my first tiny light :)

It was a bright and sunny April day, when Sylvie and Kyle exchanged their vows to one another. I always find the best part of being the photographer is being able to see the entire day unfold from behind my camera.

I fell in love with the families, they knew my big family from Legal and so I felt comfortable around them from the start.

The ceremony was beautiful, as was the bride. I love the receptions, listening to everyone's speeches and laughing or crying along with everyone else.

This is Jessica. I have known this girl since she was just a year old and now she is graduating. Wow!

I photographed her parents last year and had the best time with them. I went to school with her mom A and haven't seen her in ages, so it was nice to be able to see them so much! A's husband is such a funny guy, he makes me laugh out loud the entire time I shoot the session. Seriously, I find it hard to focus instead of just sitting there talking and laughing. I wish he was with me on every shoot :)

You may remember these two. This is their 3rd time back for a session and I love it!

This time they wanted to go indoors, and I really tried to stay indoors......but I just couldn't not take advantage of the nice day outside. So we stayed in the Alberta Art Gallery for some and went to City Hall for the rest. They are the best couple and I can't wait for the engagement and wedding pictures in the near future.......okay I am jumping ahead of myself, we have to wait until James pops the question anyway :)

K wanted to surprize her boyfriend with a beautiful boudoir album for his birthday! While we were shooting she told me how they met when they were younger, they both really liked eachother but never said anything and then just lost touch. They hadn't seen eachother in about 30 years!!

But then were re-united last year and still felt the same way about one another and everything just fell into place.

My assistant needed some practice before wedding season approaches, so I posted about needing some models for a free photo shoot! And I got an email from a very friendly and funny Steven :) I instantly knew he was the one I would choose for this shoot. Along with his girlfriend we headed to West Edmonton Mall. Of all the places to pick on such a crazy day............the Edmonton Oilers were there signing autographs and playing a game at the rink, so needless to say it was SUPER busy. People everywhere! But we did sneak away and get some fabulous shots! I had so much fun guys :)

When Amanda asked me to be her wedding photographer I was so flattered. I was very happy to accept. She is my cousin so it will be a very emotional wedding for me, I am glad I will have my assistant there to keep me in check.....and to stop me from crying :)

It was pretty cold out when I met them at their home for their engagement session. And it has snowed so much in Alberta that I was knee deep in snow for a few of these shots. We did the first half of the shoot and then headed in to warm up, then went back out. I love how they turned out! Congrats again guys and see you at the wedding....kleenex in hand ;)

A friend asked me to join her new mission, a non-profit foundation offering professional photography to families of children who are suffering from life altering medical conditions. Which is the best part? It is FREE for these families. They have enough to worry about, hospital costs, surgery, the list goes on and on. This is one less thing they have to worry about.

The Tiny Light Foundation was launched only a couples of days ago and already we have a great response! We have been emailing people everywhere asking for help or coverage of our mission. Any help we can get is fabulous and appreciated! And in just 2 days we have a magazine cover ( March/April issue ), an article and they are adding us to their classes and support section with Edmonton Child's Publication! Wow! We are so appreciative of this!

We had made this plan this summer, the two of us would take eachothers photos when I came down there for a holiday. Rain!! Yup that's right it started raining as soon as this couple arrived at the location, and it did not stop the whole time. So needless to say this was challenging. But these two were not afraid to get wet, they stayed out there the whole time and did whatever was asked of them. I love them both and their families, Teena is such a wonderful person and it shines through with everything she does. She gave me this note yesterday and it almost brought me to tears ( I am a very emotional person, I cried at their wedding ;) It was so sweet I just had to share it with you all.

The wedding this past Saturday was just beautiful. Cora and Chad are so in love and it shows big time. Cora is an old friend from years ago, we haven't seen each other in about 15 years.....so needless to say I was very excited to be shooting this wedding :) It was a beautiful day with a beautiful bride and groom and both families as well.

These girls are just beautiful aren't they? I had the pleasure of photographing them last night in the fields near Bon Accord. I have known the mom since waaaay back, it was great to see her again :) We went to a canola field, but the yellow flowers are almost all gone. We still got a few and the wheat fields also made for a great backdrop. Then there is this truck, I have driven by it a ton of times and always said I am going bring some clients out there to take some shots............and I finally got my chance! I love old vehicles and sheds, barns.....anything with character or the aged banged up look ;) We got some amazing shots! These girls are just plain gorgeous :)

I felt like I was a guest at this wedding, the bride and groom as well as the bridal party and families were just fantastic! I was glad I was part of their special day.

After all the rain this long weekend I found out it was going to be nice on Monday, so I had offered a bit of a deal. And this lovely girl took advantage of it! We had so much fun, she is such a funny girl! Although the cherry blossoms in Fort Saskatchewan were not what I had hoped they would be, we still got some great shots with them and some fabulous ones in Downtown Fort Sask. Thanks Leah!!

I was very surprised when my mom agreed to a session, she is not a camera kinda girl. But she did and she looks amazing. My sister joined us for some pictures too, my brother hates getting his picture taken........I mean hates it!! So he is not in any of the pictures unfortunately. My first wedding of my career was a great success. My cousin Penny let me tag along to this wedding, so I could see how it works and get comfortable. We had so much fun together, it was a bonus photographing the wedding with her! It was long day............I wasn't used to that ;) But by the end of the day I had forgotten how tired I was. Being part of a wedding, getting to watch everything from behind my camera was just wonderful. Enjoy these first's of mine!

I took maternity pictures for my long time friend Trish back in March, and little H was born on March 30th. I was supposed to take these photos last weekend, but baby had a different idea. She kept mommy up all night, so neither one of them were up for a photo shoot :) So this weekend I headed over.

I had forgotten how tiny newborn babies are, I have two boys but it is easy to forget how teeny tiny they are when they first come into the world. She was a bundle of energy, moving all the time and always having her hands waving. She is adorable and a big congrats to Trish and family!

Skating 101

On Family Day today we went to the local skating rink with my husbands family. It was such a nice day out!!! Made for some great pictures!

Frosty Christmas

First of all I hope everyone had a great Holiday Season! Christmas morning we woke up to open the presents first of course, but when I peeked out I noticed that all the trees and shrubs had frost on all of their branches. It was so beautiful! So when we headed over to my parents house for dinner, I just had to go and see if I could get a good shot. I pulled off on the side of the country road and snapped a few pictures. And these are my favorites!

I had to add one more! I drive by this gorgeous tree everytime I go to work and I just love it! And the frost on it today looks even better.

Shawn and Sherri called me up to take their shots for the Christmas card. They wanted to make it the most festive the could and they did a great job. They went out a bought sweaters, Christmas mugs complete with marshmallows and candy canes. They were a lot of fun!

It was a nice warm November morning today on my way to K and C's home for a family shoot! They are a wonderful family, and took great pictures. These two little girls are just as adorable as their cousins in my last family shoot " 3 little ladies ". The littlest one was very interested in my camera, and was fascinated when the picture showed up on the lcd screen. A wonderful shoot!

Over the Thanksgiving weekend I photographed this adorable little family. We were supposed to be outside for the photos but it was very cold and yucky out there, so we stayed in. So no beautiful fall colors, but the gorgeous smiles made up for it! Mom A was radiant and her 2 boys were such good boys, even though the older one was ill....poor guy. I had great time guys!!
